Greg Hardy: LAC LA RONGE

June 25 - July 17, 2009

Greg Hardy’s paintings capture the elemental force and spirit of the sparsely populated Canadian wilderness. This land is full of vitality, expressed in rugged Pre-Cambrian cliffs and tree-covered islands. We see a tree bent against the wind, rough waves, and an ominous sky. Rocks jut out in irregular shapes and Hardy approaches this landscape with a bold, vigorous painting style in the tradition of the Group of Seven.

Greg Hardy lives in Saskatoon. Recent exhibitions include the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Kenderdine Gallery in Saskatchewan. (catalogue available)
