Nicholas Metivier Gallery is honoured to announce Ann MacIntosh Duff: 1925 - 2022, a small survey exhibition of her watercolours. This exhibition, running from Saturday, November 16th through Saturday, December 7th, is a celebration of MacIntosh Duff's remarkable seven-decade-long career, highlighting her profound connection with the landscape and honouring her steady commitment to her practice.
Ann MacIntosh Duff: 1925 - 2022 showcases her range of subjects and locales created at her studio inside her Toronto home as well as at her boathouse studio on Scotch Pine Island in Georgian Bay where she spent every summer.
"I think you can look at someone like Ann MacIntosh Duff and see this kind of tender address of the natural world that is at odds with the tradition and is in a way, a kind of corrective.”
In 2022, the McMichael Canadian Art Collection acquired over 200 of MacIntosh Duff’s watercolours making it the largest collection of her work in the country. This fall the museum will release a comprehensive publication, Ann MacIntosh Duff, on her life and work.
